Look beyond the monthly price.

The right question is what the policy covers when you need it. Compare the options below in Canada Life’s quote and policy documents.

A path after group benefits

Explore Guaranteed plans when eligible workplace benefits end. The 60-day application window matters.

Prescription drugs

Compare covered medications, reimbursement percentages and yearly limits for the plan you choose.

Dental & vision

Explore dental and vision options. Check waiting periods, covered services and frequency limits.

Everyday health expenses

Look at paramedical practitioners and eligible supplies—not every expense is covered by every plan.

Monthly premium options

Review the monthly cost alongside out-of-pocket costs and the effective date.

Optional travel coverage

Travel medical options have separate age, stability, trip-length and eligibility requirements.

A note about the Canadian Dental Care Plan

Access to private dental insurance can affect CDCP eligibility. Check the Government of Canada rules before adding private dental coverage.

Before you decide

What happens when I click Get a quote?

You leave our website and open Johnathan Pollock’s Canada Life e-benefit referral link in a new tab. Canada Life provides plan details, pricing and its application. You do not need to book a meeting with us first.

Can I replace workplace benefits after retirement or a job change?

Canada Life Guaranteed plans are designed for people leaving eligible group coverage. Apply within 60 days of your group benefits ending and meet the eligibility requirements. Similar previous coverage and plan terms matter; confirm your eligibility with Canada Life before applying.

Do I need to tell Thompson & Pollock about my medical history?

No. Our plan finder stays in your browser. It gives a starting point, not an approval decision. Any medical or medication information required for an application belongs in Canada Life’s application, not our contact form.

Can I be turned down because of a health condition?

Eligible Guaranteed plans do not require medical underwriting. Select with assured acceptance is another option to explore. Coverage for existing conditions, prescriptions, waiting periods and benefit limits depends on the specific policy. Canada Life confirms the terms and eligibility.

What does it cost?

Your premium depends on the plan, who is covered, your location and applicable options. Canada Life’s quote shows your price. Compare premiums, reimbursement percentages, annual limits and exclusions—not just the monthly payment.

Is there an age limit?

Canada Life describes no maximum application age for Freedom to Choose health and dental plans. Provincial health coverage and other eligibility rules apply. Optional travel coverage has separate age and trip-length rules.

Do I need a medical exam?

No medical exam is required. Some plans ask health questions; others offer assured or guaranteed acceptance subject to eligibility.

Can I pay monthly?

Canada Life offers monthly premium payments. Check the payment details and effective date in your quote and policy.

What if I have the Canadian Dental Care Plan?

Private dental insurance can affect eligibility for the Canadian Dental Care Plan, including access through individually purchased coverage. Check the current Government of Canada eligibility rules before applying. Explore health-only options if appropriate; do not assume private dental coverage can be added without affecting CDCP eligibility.

When does coverage start?

The insurer confirms your effective date after the application process. A quote or link click does not activate coverage. Do not cancel existing benefits until you understand the replacement policy, exclusions and any waiting periods.

Does Thompson & Pollock receive compensation?

Thompson & Pollock may receive compensation from Canada Life for eligible policies placed through our referral link. Canada Life determines pricing, acceptance, policy terms and claims. Insurance is offered independently of Optimize Wealth Management Inc.

A SEPARATE QUESTION, WHEN YOU’RE READY

Health bills are one part of protection.
Your family’s income is another.

Replacing health and dental benefits is a good moment to check what else you already have—not an automatic reason to buy more insurance. Start with four questions. Your answers stay on this page.

Workplace coverage

Do you know which health, life and disability benefits end when your job changes?

Your household income

Could the people depending on you cover essential bills if your income stopped?

Your home

Do you know who receives the benefit from your mortgage-related insurance?

Enough—not excess

Have you compared your family’s needs with the protection you already have?
